We are excited for a couple of major announcements that enhance user collaboration within Microsoft Teams and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Ever since we first launched Sift’s Microsoft Teams app back in 2021, we have focused on accelerating both employee productivity and engagement in Microsoft Teams. These new updates continue building upon that foundation and not only expand upon the Teams integration with exciting new AI capabilities, but also expand Sift’s capabilities to Microsoft Outlook and 365.
Sift and Microsoft Copilot Integration for Microsoft Teams
The first announcement is the Microsoft Copilot Integration which ingests Sift’s employee data like skills, job information, known languages, projects and more and brings all of that inside of Microsoft’s AI assistant, Copilot.
Now you are able to create prompts and get answers to questions like:
- Find someone in the technology department who can help me with javascript
- Find me someone who is fluent in Portuguese and knows Adobe Photoshop
- Find several people at my company who are alumni at Rutgers University and have experience in event planning
Users will receive responses along with embedded profile links of employees. Users can hover over these links and see a callout card which gives a mini-preview of the person, including info like job title, email, skills, and a link to where they are on the company org chart and a link to their full profile.
We are enthusiastic about how these capabilities will help enable employees and improve their understanding of their company's unique skills, expertise, organizational relationships, and interests. In addition, Sift continues to explore additional avenues where AI can assist in connecting you with others in your organization.
Sift Now Available in Outlook and Microsoft 365
Ever write an email and wonder more about the person you were writing to? How can I break the ice? What things do we have in common? What does their team reporting structure look like?
If you are using Outlook, you now have full access to Sift directly from your email application and can more easily gain understanding of the individual or organizational relationships of the people you communicate with. With the Sift App for Outlook you can:
- Find the right person to send your next email to using Sift search
- View the org chart or dive deeper into the profile to get a better understanding
- Share profile cards of people or groups of people, embedded in your email messages
Not only can you do all of this from Outlook, but the capability is extended across to the Office 365 online version as well.
We hope these enhancements will enable employees to discover, connect, and collaborate with each other more naturally, right where they are working and collaborating.
